makers.page is a small indie project, and this policy is written the same way: plainly. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, no ads, and no selling of data. Here's exactly what the site collects and why.

What's collected when you submit

The submission form asks for two things: your product URL and your X handle. From those, the site stores:

Your product's URL, plus the title, short description, and logo or favicon fetched from that page.
Your X handle, your public X account id, and your follower count at the moment you submitted. These come from X's public API and exist so one account can't hold multiple spots on the same day.
Once you're verified, the id of your public quote tweet and its like count, which is re-checked roughly every hour while the day is live and kept as a history of snapshots.

All of it is information you chose to make public by launching: it's what the leaderboard displays. Past days are kept in the Leaderboard archive so results stay verifiable.

What's collected when you just visit

Browsing the site requires nothing from you. The site uses Vemetric for basic analytics, page views and general usage, so I can tell whether anyone is actually using the thing. There is no ad tracking and no cross-site profiling on my end.

Third parties

Vemetric handles the analytics described above.
Vercel hosts the site and, like any host, processes standard server logs (things like IP addresses and request paths) to serve pages.
X provides the public account and tweet data used for ranking. Anything you do on X itself is covered by X's own policies, not this one.

That's the whole list. Your data is never sold, rented, or shared beyond what those services need to run the site.

Removing your data

Want your submission or the data attached to it taken down? Reach out through the Contact page from the X account that submitted, name the entry, and I'll remove it. Since this is a one-person project, that request goes straight to the person who can actually do it.
